1. Controller and data collected

The controller of personal data processed through thornton.ch is Thornton Advocates, Bahnhofstrasse 84, 8001 Zürich, Switzerland (phone +41 44 268 5190, e-mail office@thornton.ch). We collect the name, e-mail address, telephone number and the message you enter in the contact form, together with technical data such as IP address, browser type and the pages visited.

2. Purposes and legal bases

We process your data to answer enquiries, to prepare and perform legal mandates, to comply with statutory duties of an advocate, and to keep the website secure and functional. Processing is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/DSG) and, where the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, on your consent, the performance of a contract, a legal obligation or our legitimate interest in operating the site.

3. Storage and disclosure

Enquiry data is kept for as long as needed to handle the request and, where a mandate follows, for the retention periods required of Swiss advocates; other data is deleted or anonymised once the purpose has lapsed. We do not sell personal data; it is disclosed only to our hosting and communication providers acting under contract, and to courts or authorities where the law requires it.

4. Your rights

You may request access to your data, its correction, deletion or restriction, object to processing and withdraw a consent you have given at any time, with effect for the future. Write to office@thornton.ch; you also have the right to contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner in Bern, or your competent supervisory authority in the EU.
